Please join 300 of TiKVA’s supporters- philanthropists, politicians, celebrities, C-level executives, and guests for a meaningful and fun evening to help raise funds for TiKVA’s forgotten Jewish children of Odessa, Ukraine.

TIKVA Children’s Home will celebrate “The Magic of Hope” on Thursday evening, November 1st 2018, marking over twenty years of humanitarian social service and education initiatives that have saved over 2,250 homeless and abused children in Odessa, Ukraine. The venue, 547 West 26th Street, promises to be the perfect setting for a lively event paying tribute to the breathtaking transformation of our children that has been made possible by TiKVA (translates from Hebrew to “HOPE”).

TIKVA will be honoring Ambassador Danny Danon, Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN and welcoming special guest speaker, actor and TIKVA supporter Sylvester Stallone, who will speak of his own family connection to Odessa.

HQ’s Host Scott Rogowsky will make a special appearance with special surprises for gala guests. Opera singer David Serero will open the evening.

A mesmerizing performance by hit off-Broadway illusionist Vitaly Beckman will add even more magic to this special evening.

TIKVA was founded over 20 years ago when Rabbi Shlomo Baksht was sent from Israel to revitalize Odessa’s Jewish community and confronted a situation much greater than the religiously marginalized population. He was urgently moved to action by the crisis of homeless and abused Jewish children.

Board Chairman Ed Frankel, founder of Vitaquest International, West Caldwell, NJ together with his wife Leah, was one of the earliest American donors to visit Odessa and became enchanted by the children and the cause. Joined by TIKVA founder and president Seth Gerzberg and a dedicated group of their friends, what began solely as a mission devoted to education led to the birth of TIKVA Children’s Home.

“Who would have believed there were homeless Jewish children?” asks TIKVA CEO Refael Kruskal: “It’s a story that must be told.”

TIKVA has been recognized as a uniquely successful model for mainstreaming children in need, breaking a cycle of poverty and revitalizing a forgotten Jewish community at the same time. This, in large part, is attributable to the total dedication of Rabbi Baksht, fellow TIKVA leader & CEO Rafael Kruskal and donors from South Africa, the UK and the US who have made these childrens’ lives a priority in their own lives.

About TIKVA:

TIKVA’s core mission is to rescue the orphaned, abandoned and abused Jewish children in the Odessa region of Ukraine by providing a loving home, quality education, Jewish values, and the emotional and communal support needed to prepare them for self-sufficient, productive lives.
