HiMama Invested in Conversation about Early Education

Provides research-based content for early educators

8 May, 2017 – HiMama promotes educator-led content in early education, creates ecosystem for knowledge sharing between educators, parents and advocates.

HiMama, a leading technology provider in the early learning sector has committed to creating educational content that is driven and informed by Early Childhood Educators (ECEs). Unique to the software industry, 25% of the HiMama team are ECEs with experience managing preschool classrooms, giving the company an unparalleled opportunity to create valuable resources for the child care industry.

Steven Bonnay, an ECE with experience working as an early educator and a field placement professor at Seneca College, regularly contributes as a feature writer for the HiMama blog.

“Early education is a field where a lot of incredibly passionate individuals go unrecognized,” says Bonnay. “I’m passionate about what HiMama is doing because we aren’t a faceless software company–we are a team of people who care about early education. Many of us are ECEs that have experience being on the floor and see the need to promote awareness for the field, and HiMama has given me a platform to share these important discussions.”

Bonnay has written on topics such as Risky Play in Early Childhood and Mindfulness in the Classroom. These articles are backed by current research in child development from journals such as Child Development Perspectives, the Early Childhood Education Journal and The American Journal of Play. These articles have garnered attention from educators, consultants and ECE students.

“We are a team driven by our mission to empower educators,” says Ron Spreeuwenberg, CEO of HiMama. “An important aspect of what we do as a company is to provide relevant resources for educators and advocate for the field. ECEs are a very important part of our team as they keep us honest as a tech company. We believe supporting ECEs is key for better quality programming for young children.”

HiMama’s ongoing content initiatives include weekly blog posts as well as episodes of The Preschool Podcast, both of which feature thought leadersandadvocates in the early childhood education space. The company also sponsors professional development sessions through Early Childhood Investigations Webinars.
