Pittsburgh Wedding DJ, Frank Gloor, was recently honored by Brides and Grooms with the 2015 Couples Choice Award from WeddingWire.com. His company, Otto Productions, has won this prestigious award the last three years. He was also awarded for Otto Productions related division, Pittsburgh Event Lighting.

Gloor has completed hundreds of weddings in the Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania area and his company has become one of the most respected entertainment companies in the region. This all started in the early 1990’s when a close friend was the victim of a DJ backing out of an event at the last moment. Gore had been DJ’ing local parties and school events and was more than happy to step in help. The rest has because history.

Gloor takes his inspiration from many different sources. He was moved recently by seeing an 88 year-old Tony Bennett performing with Lady Gaga. He stated, “This kind of dedication to one’s craft is what motivates me to constantly work to improve upon my own performances!” Over his 20 years as a wedding DJ, Gloor has attended numerous workshops and seminars to continuously improve his craft.

In his interview Gloor remarked, “It is always gratifying to be recognized for commitment to your clients, but the true honor is helping a couple plan and personalize their wedding with unique and creative ideas. It is very satisfying to assist couples in making their wedding dreams come true. It is always an honor to be recognized by the brides and grooms you have helped in the past.”

During our discussion on how Gloor distinguishes himself as a DJ, he provided his original formula:

Creativity + Planning = FUN
Creativity: is the key to making any event personalized and unique.
Planning: wishes come true when you take proper steps in planning
FUN: The goal of all weddings and any event is to have it described as “Fun”

The biggest cost in any wedding occasion are all the fancy decorations, beautiful flowers, elegant formal wear, and delicious food. These things just create the stage. A true professional DJ can make that event into something very fun.

Many people consider Wedding Wire to be the best and the largest wedding review site online. In its short existence, Wedding Wire has collected over 2 million reviews of vendors and provides online planning tools for brides and grooms. They take great effort in making sure the reviews are from real brides and grooms and provide several means to help couples in their planning process. This has made Wedding Wire a leader in the wedding industry!

The winter season is considered by many as the kickoff for engagement and wedding planning season. The period from Christmas to Valentine’s Day is when between 35% and 60% of all engagements take place. Within days, wedding planning and hiring vendors begins. Most couples select the venue first, and DJ and/or photographer next. CostofWedding.com shows the average wedding cost in the Pittsburgh area is over $26,500. As the cost of weddings has escalated, so has the expectations of couples in their service vendors. This makes these annual service ratings by third-party sources such as Wedding Wire crucial in finding great vendors.

The pressure created by trying to find the perfect site and vendors for wedding can make a joyful time very stressful for most couples. Gloor mentioned that while a couple should seek advice and counsel from friends and family, when it comes to making final decisions they should go with their own heart. He explained, “As a couple, you should remember that this is YOUR wedding, not your parents or friends. There are no do-overs; and this is the only time that this combination of your family and friends will be together to celebrate your marriage. Your wedding is as special and unique as you both are.”
